    These furry fellows need homes

Fifty bucks will buy a whole lot of love this Christmas.

Thompson Rivers University's animal-health technology program is again looking for permanent homes for five of its furrier 'graduates.'

Sonia Walczak, registered animal health technologist said Thursday four cats and one dog remain from the pets that went through this fall's program.

All have been spayed, neutered, dewormed, vaccinated and socialized. The adoption fee is $50 each.

Now they need someone to love them forever.

    Walczak described them as follows:

p Bella is a yellow lab cross. She's very sweet and affectionate, but she's strong and exuberant. She's about one and a half years old. She was at the City pound with her two pups. The pups got homes and Bella went to TRU.

p Cactus is a little black cat, who is very sweet and gentle. But she also has a heart murmur, so she needs a quiet home where she can live as an indoor cat and be stress free.

p Devilla is a medium-haired female with a coat that's black, but with a silvery undercoat. She's very cute and has a nice temperament.

p Starla is a sweet little grey tabby, about two years old. She is softly vocal at times, gentle and friendly. She'd be great with kids.

p Sinead is like Devilla, black with a silvery undercoat. She's about one and a half years old and is quite laid back. undercoat. She's not overly playful. She's happy to be by you and look out the window and be petted and brushed.

Walczak said anyone interested in any of these pets should call 250-828-5174 and leave a message if no one's around. There's more information and photos of the program's cats and dogs on the web site, www.tru.ca/science/aht/adoptions

    Grouchy says...

I think that they do a great job at TRU . Fifty bucks is cheap for the effort put into taking care of these animals . I do hope that people support them and adopt these great looking dogs and cats.
