Students at Canyon-Lister Elementary School enjoyed the Winter Olympics last month, and participated in an event of their own — a read-a-thon.
On Friday, students crammed into nooks and crannies around the school to enjoy a last-minute bit of reading before the official awards ceremony started. Guests from the community arrived to read to small groups, while others chose their own way to finish up their reading commitments.
Students logged in more than 140,000 minutes of reading — a gold medal by any standard.
