Your article Where The Heart Is, March 10, was well done. The caption, "Not all seniors want high-end assisted living; some just want a nice place to call home" was very appropriate and timely.
The cost of assisted-living units is out of reach of many seniors today. Added to that is the fact a large section of seniors’ living accommodation is located on the North Shore; it’s been said land prices are more reasonable.
I am sure many seniors would like to see some similar type projects on the South Shore. Like your caption said — a nice place to call home, affordable to those at the lower end of the income scale, central to the downtown core and maybe where their favourite pet would be acceptable.
