Six Thompson Rivers University students have been awarded scholarships by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
Students selected must have first-class standing in their last two years. Awards are given on research potential and ability as well as interpersonal and leadership abilities.
The winners are:
Brittany Dever and Samantha Keller, $17,000 each for scholarships in chemistry.
Alysa McCall and Kendra Robinson, $17,000 scholarships each in biology.
Scott Foubister, a $17,000 scholarship in physics.
Julie Payette, a $25,000 scholarship for research.
Another student, Marisa Azad, has been accepted to the University of Illinois’s joint MD/PhD program, with a $480,000 scholarship over eight years.
