UFO spotted during drive home from Vancouver

    Share |

I read your article Monday, April 26, in The Daily News, Don’t Touch The Aliens.

Although it may be difficult for some to believe, my wife and I had a very unusual experience. We were coming back from Vancouver in 1980 and as we passed on the highway above Ashcroft we heard a humming sound.

Looking above the windshield there was a space ship about 50 feet in diameter and (just guessing) about 20 feet in depth at the thickest part. It hovered over us, the wife was terrified. I just thought I could out run it.

My car would only do 120 miles per hour, which I did to no avail. The space ship stayed right with us. Suddenly up it went – as we watched it heading out into space. The flying saucer turned red with sparks flying off its outer shell.

I realized that the friction of the space ship against our mass caused it to heat up to that point. I am convinced beyond a reason of a doubt that there are life forms, could be human? Living on some of the planets in our universe.

If there are doubters about this experience I wrote about I will take any test by any psychologist or otherwise.

I have but one thing to say to the ones who pose comments directed at me.

Is it peaceful for you, in your world?

    Is ignorance truly bliss?

I only posted my comments in support of the gentleman that brought forth his encounter.

We need more to do so..so we can actually understand the full extent to all that we have had taking place.

"Taken by the greys" is only ONE very small part to this very large topic.

It hard to believe from some of the comments here..but according to a report from the United Nations..since 1947 to 2006 there have been over 150 MILLION people that have been witness to UFO sightings throughout the world. 20 thousand of those are of documented landings..

If these figures mean anything to anyone..doing the math would show that there have been literally close to a billion if not more..sightings.

I guess for most who are entertainment oriented people..if it is not reported on the TV news..it cant be real.

I know..the truth will come out.

I have never seen a UFO or an "alien" but I think it is pretty arrogant of us to think we are the only living entity out there.

Believing that there are no other life forms in the vastness of space, is as ludicrous as believing there are only the studied life forms that exist in our oceans.

I believe that we've had alien visitors from other planets, I don't believe every UFO story though. However, I believe a large percentage of those who claim to have seen UFOs aren't lying.

Present day western civilization is enjoying a period of cultural domination, the end consequences of which remain to be measured - our technological advances are steadily proving to be incompatible with our natural world.

We have a tendency to measure technological advances in terms of how we triumph over nature, as opposed to viewing nature as a form of technology.

American Indians survived and thrived on this continent for thousands of years, preserving and coexisting, with their natural surroundings.

In a few hundred years, by virtue of colonial concepts of science and technology, American Indians, like the rest of us, have now become dependent on a system that now features human endeavor as superior over nature.

Perhaps this is why there are so many people living within western society, whom are unable to accept the theory that there may be beings far superior than ourselves.

We've been subconsciously conditioned to believe we are the masters of our planet, which periodically reminds us that we really aren't the masters at all.

Rather, we are simple instinctual animals with complex abilities to think - evidenced by the fact that we aren't always morally superior to other life forms that exist within the animal kingdom, of which we like to feel we're so distant from.

    I had the same experience!
Or at least I THINK I did... That was back in the early 80's and most of that's a blurrrr maaan. It was either Aliens or Rock n' Roll.
Seriously - We're WAY too small and the universe is WAY to big to say we're the only ones here for sure, but I'm thinking "Flying Saucer" is not going to be the vessel that brings them here (or us to them).

I'm not saying I believe every UFO story, but I must say, these events are very possible. Look at how vast the universe is, and we don't even fully understand our own planet, nor our own human existence.

One writer on this thread mentions that humans long for imaginary tales of ghosts etc., because it fills a void humanity is unable to occupy. Perhaps this may be true to a certain extent. However, what is also true, to an extent, is modern humanity's implication that they are the superior being, and have reached the pinnacle of all understanding.

It is no surprise that western thought, and it's accompanying arrogance, is strongly rooted in Judeo-Christian theology.

A convenient way of dealing with people who have had 'encounters' with aliens, or ghosts, or angels etc. is to say they are 'in need of help' or lying. That way their or story doesn't even have to be considered, but can be dismissed, and even repressed by the intolerant.

I have met more than a few people who have seen UFO's or who claim to have had some sort of experience. None of them are any more insane or troubled than anyone else. They simply have unverified personal experiences, though some of these are backed up by total strangers in the same area.

In the past these might have been considered visions, or visits from God. In other words these experiences have been happening since the beginning of recorded history. Christian Saints often had encounters with beings who were not of this world. And this is the least of the Christian church's problems right now.

Mormons beliefs were hand delivered to a man by an 'Angel', and while I don't care for their ideas, they do seem to be thriving without people constantly reminding them that there is no such thing as Angels. If it happened this year instead of 1823, they wouldn't be so respectable and rich.

Millions of mere mortals and even scientists believe there is the potential for aliens to visit us, and people have a right to relate their beliefs. Like it or not.

Why does the Daily News report single silly stories like this? The individual reporting this story probably needs help and posting the story gives them undue credibility.

Good posting thinkly.I don't know what the others are talking about, but then who cares.Same old people saying the same old things. It's unlikely that our planet is the only one with life.Just as people once believed that the universe rotated around earth, more and more people will realize we're not alone. If I saw something like Mr. Barrett,I wouldn't care what people thought either.

People hope for aliens because the humans around them are rather tedious and can never stop bickering. Aliens, ghosts, angels, gremlins, sasquatch, imaginary friends and every other invisible 'being', verifiable or not, represent a basic need in human kind to have other beings to occupy the Universe with. Something that is more than human, otherworldly, yet potentially helpful. Maybe it's only a projection of some part of our own minds, or maybe it's all real.

Not really idiotic or morally reprehensible, but as human as bickering and building rocket ships. I've never seen an alien, but I have run into ghosts (unwillingly) like many others, and care not what anyone thinks.

I am saddened by the immature, closed minds that have posted here.

What will it take to wake you people up?
You have been trained and conditioned all your lives to let certain entities control what you are to believe..whether it be government, religion, science.

I have seen many crafts ..and most have been very close.

We are not alone..and we never have been.

What a shock it will be to those who have never had a close encounter..but would rather mock and ridicule the ones that do..and come forth to share.
What a shock it will be ..when EVERYTHING you once thought solid..comes apart.

I have been taken..I have been on a craft two times..It is all very real.

Google "taken by the greys" for my own encounters.

To all that come forth and share what they see and experience...I commend them. It is difficult when there seems to be such immature reactions to this subject, wherever one may be.

    Peace.

I have to admit that's pretty cool, bendy-butt disappears and std appears! Wow, must be magic!

And so eloquent too! Makes me take all those "grow up child" comments to heart, oohhh I'm struck in the heart by regrets for not living up to expectations.

Of course these could be two individual posters, but I can't see it, their vocabulary is about the same, their intelligent comments are about the same, their facts are about the same. Nope must be bendy-butts=stds.

But hey I encourage you to share all the years of wisdom you must have under your belt(s).

Really funny though, you remind me of smelly-Dan, the guy nobody wanted to work with who would text people on his coffee breaks to make himself look important. Hahaha.
