Story:I would like to congratulate Alex Atamanenko for posting his parliamentary expenses. It is the right thing to do! Well done Alex!
Now, if I read the numbers correctly, Alex is spending $518,000 per year to run his operation in the riding plus his salary and benefits? That would be approximately $2 million over the past four years. So the question you need to ask, are we getting good value for the money?
Let’s look at Alex’s record:
• mills and plants closed;
• schools and hospitals closed due to lack of job creation:
• postal services closed;
• voted against the federal budget that provided Celgar with $57 million of federal funding for the new green co-gen plant and expansion;
• attempted to stop the Celgar funding over a municipal tax issue;
• continues to vote against C-391, the abolishment of the long gun registry;
• “… he’d prefer people hold off on contacting him”, when their children where trapped in Haiti; as there was nothing he could do. – KBS News 01-15-2010
Thankfully, we had Stockwell Day and the Prime Minister working for you!
Let’s look at my record:
• created 13 positions at our family business
• helped create hundreds of jobs at our clients’ businesses
Since winning the nomination in November:
• helped Red Mountain secure their Western Diversification funding; Alex could not!
• helped Nelson get their Order in Council for their historic railway station; Alex could not!
• working on economic development plan for Area E.
• working on economic development plan in Midway.
This has all been done part time well I continue to run our family business. We can accomplish much more together when I start full time.
The choice is yours!
