To the Editor:
CBC has a discussion forum attached to articles. Comments are moderated to ensure guidelines are met. Interestingly, when it comes to real issues, moderating turns to censorship. I posted the following comment on the story “Israel releases ship raid activists”:
“As an Israelite, I condemn this barbarity. Neither U.S. nor Zionists is friend of Israel. They are core of the problem in the Middle East and elsewhere. They are the ones prophet Isaiah wrote about: ‘Woe unto them that call evil and evil good.' ”
It was posted and then more than censored — it completely disappeared. Usually the message “This comment was removed by the moderator” remains posted.
CBC is kept afloat by $1.1 billion of Canadian tax dollars. The “moderator” is thus at least partially paid to censor truth while garbage advocating genocide and mass murder is being freely passed. (I report this abuse repeatedly when comments like “Leave and nuke that place to the Stone Age” or “Kill the scumbags, take no prisoners” are posted.)
There were hours, even days, where not even one of my comments was posted while lies, war mongering and hate speech comments had a field day. My protests to CBC ombudsman Vince Carlin and former chief moderator Sharon Mulholland brought short term improvements at best.
I do not know about you, fellow Canadians, but I am afraid democracy was hijacked and cleptocracy arrived. What is cleptocracy? That's simple: When you are tightening your belt and billions of your tax dollars bail out banks (which print money out of thin air and charge usury on it) or when market scammers create non-existing assets and swap that worthless junk for a tax-based swap — they get the money you pay — or when (s)elected politicians refuse their expenses be audited and there is nothing in the world you can do.
I want my Canada back. Don't you?
