NANCY MYRIL JANSEN (nee Guptill)

April 14, 1948 to June 8, 2010

Nancy Jansen

Tragically and sadly, Nancy was taken from us too soon. She passed away at her home in Grand Forks on June 8, 2010, suffering complications from end stage kidney failure. Nancy was a good friend to many; loving, good natured and generous. Most will remember her from her many years at the bakery, and others from her years at Suds. She was all too eager to help anyone in need and cared deeply for her friends. Nancy had a strong passion for animals. She would feed stray field cats and pet sit for anyone who wanted to insure their pets were well cared for. Nancy lived in a small and modest home, but there was always room for one more pet. They say “a home full of animals is a home full of love” and that certainly describes Nancy’s warm and kind heart.

She will be sadly missed by Pommie, Asia, Sylvester, Tequila and the many people whose hearts she touched. Nancy was predeceased by father, Eldon Guptill and mother, Myrel (Schofeild) Selby. She is survived by brothers- Danniel (Paulette), David (Penny), Peter (Natasha) and Paul, all of Nova Scotia, Timothy (Barb) of Alberta and sister, Kathy Ann in Revelstoke B.C., and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial for Nancy will be held at the First Baptist Church in Grand Forks on Thursday, June 17, 2010, at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation in lieu of flowers.

Rest in peace, dear friend.
