Carrying Boat Operators Certification card the law

Scuba Stars for Kids, take your first breath underwater and experience a whole new world.

This innovative 2 dive program introduces kids as young as 6-years old to scuba diving using Supplied Air Snorkeling for youth system.

Once you have completed two dives in Scuba Stars, you can move into the 5 dive program.

Padi Seal Team provides an opportunity to submerge in the water in a safe controlled environment.

Serpent Aquatic from Summerland provides specialized equipment and instruction once a month at the Grand Forks Aquatic Centre.

The next session for the Scuba program will be Wednesday, Aug 4 from 12:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

If you operate a motorized boat you must carry a Boat Operators Certification card with you. “It is the Law.”

You can obtain your card through the Recreation department by challenging the exam. Give us a call to set up a time to write the exam.

You receive your temporary card at that time. Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The fee for the exam is $20.

Summer Hip Hop /Jazz Dance camp for ages 9 to 13 will be held at the Christina Lake Community Hall from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. starting July 19 to July 30 and again Aug 23 to Sept 3.

Hip Hop/Jazz Dance camp for ages 5 to 8 years Aug 9 to 20. Classes run Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for two weeks.

Bronze Medallion is the first of three awards needed to become a certified lifeguard.

Christina Lake Recreation will be offering a Bronze Medallion camp at the Christina Lake Public Beach from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Aug 9 to 13.

This course teaches the proper techniques for challenging water rescues, increases your physical fitness, and improves stroke efficiency and endurance swims.

Registration deadline is Tuesday, Aug 3.
