To the Editor:

The Creston Valley Business Association would like to go on record as supporting the two young men in their efforts in creating a petition to have the town council revisit the issue of free metered parking for the summer in the downtown core.

We are all well aware of the struggles that the businesses on Canyon Street have. We have lost parking with the revitalization of Canyon Street and the Cook Street parking lot, and now the town, in its wisdom, feels that now is a good time to reinstate the metered parking. Why not just say, “Head to Wal-Mart”, as they have free parking?

Both the locals and the tourists have commented what a nice gesture it is to have free parking in our community. So much for hospitality. Let's get that last almighty loonie from our citizens.
