RCR added to KCDS board

With the Kimberley Community Development Society set to manage the new conference and athletic training centre, Resorts of the Canadian Rockies has requested that it have two representatives on the KCDS board.

RCR will manage food and beverage services at the conference centre and contributed land and cash for the project.

Council approved the appointment of Andy Cohen and Patti Thompson from the Resort. They also added Councillor Mick Henningson as the third Council representative.

“This was part of the agreement when RCR provided land for the conference centre,” said Mayor Jim Ogilvie. “They wanted to be 20 per cent of the board.”

The board now has five members at large, three councillors and two RCR personnel.
