The annual Food Bank garage sale is still three weeks away, but now is the time to start thinking about gathering items you may want to donate to the fundraiser.
“It’s a good fundraiser for us,” said Stan Salikin, long time Food Bank director. “We make close to $5000 on it and that helps quite a bit.”
The sale is set for August 21 beginning at 9 am at the Kimberley Curling Rink. But the Food Bank will be accepting donated items starting next week., after August 6.
“We are looking for good quality merchandise,” Salikin said.
Items can be dropped off to the former College building behind McKim field. After August 6 someone will be there each evening from 4 to 6 to receive items.
If you have large items but can’t get them there, pick up can be arranged. Call Stan at 250-427-7258, Lowell at 250-427-4406 or the Food Bank at 250-427-5522
