A concerned citizen helped RCMP catch a man believed responsible for robberies at two fast food restaurants on the city’s North Shore Thursday morning.
Const. Cheryl Bush said the citizen held a 32-year-old suspect until police arrived. The suspect faces two proposed charges of robbery.
Police were dispatched to the A&W on Fortune Drive at 6 a.m. when a man climbed behind the restaurant’s front counter and demanded money from the clerk, but fled empty handed.
The incident was similar to one reported at the McDonald’s on Fortune hours earlier. In that case a man took cash from a till after climbing over a counter, said Bush.
