Police are looking for a man who walked into the downtown 7-Eleven store early Tuesday, grabbed a clerk by the throat and demanded money.
Const. Cheryl Bush said the man, described as Caucasian, about six feet tall, in his 30s, and weighing 200 pounds, came in the store at 4 a.m.
He held the female clerk by the throat until her male co-worker handed over cash from the till, and then he fled on foot. The man did not have a weapon.
A police dog was not able to pick up the robber’s scent and police do not have a suspect. The store’s video surveillance is being examined to see if it turns up useful evidence.
The woman was uninjured, although she was badly shaken by the incident, Bush said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the RCMP at 250-828-3000.
