A grand opening for Kimberley

The City of Kimberley is planning quite a party this week and the community is invited.

The official unveiling and Grand Opening of the Kimberley Conference and Athlete Training Centre with opening ceremony, tour, training facility demonstrations, entertainment and refreshments is planned for Thursday, November 25 at 3 p.m.

Dignitaries include Mayor Jim Ogilvie, Jerry Johnston, who has been so instrumental in the history of disabled sport, Rick Jensen owner of New Dawn Developments and Kimberley's own Josh Dueck world champion and Paralympic silver medalist.

There will be a video message by Honourable Stephanie Cadieux Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development, and a performance by the MoMo Mixed Ability Dance Theatre, dance troupe from Calgary.

The official program runs from 3 to 4:20 p.m. and then there will be tours of the facility, refreshments and menu tastings.
