Every year since the Kimberley Food Bank has operated, the Wasa Lions have made a donation of some form to those in need.
It's one of the many ways" WE SERVE" our community and beyond.
We have butchered several cows and ground and wrapped the beef, collected donations of food at dances, meetings and parties, donated excess food from Lions events and made dozens of financial donations.
In recent years we have donated our share of the funds raised from the Wasa Summer Pancake Breakfast Programme. Each week one of several Wasa groups prepare and serve at the breakfast. All the income is pooled and shared equally between each volunteer group.
The Lions share this year was $700 and our Vice President, Lion Charlie Harding is pleased to make this donation today to the Kimberley Food Bank.
We appreciate the great support we receive from the wonderful folk in our surrounding communities and in turn we hope the work we do helps to make life less stressful and more enjoyable for those less fortunate than ourselves.
