Selkirk Secondary launches Food Bank fundraiser

Selkirk Secondary has launched their annual fundraiser for the Kimberley Food Bank. Between now and December 17, you can purchase a $2 from any Selkirk student for an opportunity to win cash prizes of $1000, $500 and $250. Above student Council members Gina Martin, Taylor Thygesen and Brady Revie dropped by the Bulletin office to kick off the campaign and sell the first ticket to graphic artist Karen Soldan.

Staff and administration at Selkirk Secondary in Kimberley like to see the students do one major fundraiser each year -something to help out the community.

For the past many years the charity of choice has been the Kimberley Helping Hands Food Bank and students have really gone all out to raise funds through their annual Food Bank Drive.

Last year Selkirk students raised $7300 for the Food Bank through ticket sales.

One $2 ticket gives the buyer a chance to win cash prizes of $1000, $500 and $250. The rest of the money raised goes to the Food Bank.

Students will be canvassing Kimberley in the coming weeks heading up to their Christmas break. The draw will be made at a final assembly on December 17. You do not have to be present to win.

Please help out and purchase a ticket when a Selkirk student comes to your door.
