Independent candidate Brent Bush wants to get into it with Conservative David Wilks over the Jumbo Resort issue, but Wilks isn't going to bite.
Bush, who has taken leave from his role as a Kimberley City Councillor in order to campaign for the federal seat, has sent out a press release asking Wilks to take responsibility for his decisions on Jumbo.
"On August 7th, 2009 RDEK Director David Wilks moved the motion that sent the proposed Jumbo Glacier Resort decision back to the Provincial government.
"Director Wilks even went one step further and requested that the Jumbo Resort area be designated a resort municipality," Bush said.
"In effect, Director Wilks helped overrule the RDEK's own zoning and land use decision making powers and demonstrated complete contempt for local citizens. Now he wants to be our Member of Parliament?
"Who would you rather have representing you in Ottawa, someone willing to speak up on your behalf or someone willing to sell you out as part of a backroom deal?"
Having read Mr. Bush's comments, David Wilks declined the opportunity to comment.
