Four days into the search for Neskie Manuel, police have little to go on in terms of the Neskonlith Indian Band counsellor's whereabouts or well-being.
Chase RCMP Sgt. Troy Beauregard said there's been no activity on the 30-year-old's bank accounts and social networking pages, and he hasn't been in touch with family or friends.
Police are investigating a lone tip from the public regarding a possible sighting, but Beauregard did not specify in a press release what the tip entailed.
Neskonlith Chief Judy Wilson said Manuel might have been sighted near a body of water, but couldn't elaborate further.
She said Manuel left his bike, laptop and iPhone behind, which would be unusual had he intended to strike off on his own for a while.
"I can't understand it myself," she said of his disappearance. "But I believe we will bring him home safe."
Community support remains strong, with a large number of volunteers taking part in the search. Beauregard said the Assembly of First Nations National Chief Sean Atleo and Regional Grand Chief Wayne Christian were present earlier in the week.
Search and rescue teams from Kamloops, the Shuswap and Vernon have been involved, as has an RCMP helicopter and an aircraft with the Provincial Emergency Preparedness program.
Anyone with information on Manuel's whereabouts is asked to phone Chase RCMP at 1-250-679-3221 or Neskonlith band office at 1-250-679-3295.
