Event connects businesses to foreign markets

A unique tradeshow makes a stop at Interior Savings Centre on Friday.

The Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Investment is bringing several overseas trade and investment representatives (known as TIRs) to Kamloops to network with businesses wanting to expand their reach into foreign markets, as well as those seeking investment for well-defined projects.

The free event takes place in the arena’s Parkside Lounge from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The international markets that the TIRs represent: Americas, Japan, Korea, North and South China, India and Europe. The representatives have broad experience in industry sectors such as transportation, logistics, environmental technologies (green energy), advanced machinery and natural resources.

The day will be broken into two segments. The morning session will be open for community stakeholders and companies and will be focused on the TIRs briefly explaining what they do, the services and resources they provide and where they see opportunities in their respective markets.

The afternoon session will be reserved for one-on-one meetings (first-come, first-served basis) where local companies can promote their opportunities to the international representatives.

To register, email cindy@venturekamloops.com or call 250-828-6818.
