East Kootenay Volleyball Club (EKVC) U15 Girls (Regional) take the silver medal in the Alberta Volleyball Association Provincial Championships.

The EKVC Avalanche U15 Girls (Regional) team is comprised of athletes from Creston, Kimberley, Fernie & Jaffray.

The Avalanche attended the AVA Provincial Championships at the University of Calgary last weekend and had a very successful tournament. The Girls went in to the tournament as relative unknowns and played their best volleyball of the year. A consistent effort over the weekend allowed the girls to get stronger every time they stepped on the floor.

After a loss in their first match Saturday morning, the girls settled in and finished the tournament with a 6 win, 2 loss record. A great team effort!!!

After three months of hard work loads of travel for practice and matches, the girls put on a fine display of skill, consistency and sportsmanship. Next stop for the girls is the U15 Western Canadian Open in Calgary over the May long weekend.
