Dylan Armstrong of Kamloops finished third in the Big Shot, the shot put competition Thursday in Stockholm.
The shot put competition isn’t part of the Diamond League, which Armstrong leads, but is held one day prior to the DN Galan Diamond League track and field meet. While the meet is held in Olympic Stadium, the shot putters do their thing in the picturesque city square of Kungstradgarden.
Armstrong, who fouled on his last three of six attempts, had a best throw of 21.00 metres. That put him behind American Christian Cantwell (21.70) and Tomasz Majewski (21.60) of Poland.
Armstrong still has the best throw in the world this year — 22.21, at the Canadian championship in Calgary.
