Three Kamloops rinks are among those who have entered this weekend’s qualifier for the B.C. Scotties Tournament of Hearts that is scheduled for the McArthur Island Curling Club.
Kristen Meersman, Karla Thompson and Patti Knezevic, all from Kamloops, have their rinks entered in the event that begins Friday.
Also entered are rinks skipped by Simone Groundwater of Williams Lake, Leanne Ursel of Kelowna, Jill Andrews of Invermere, Jen Rusnell of Prince George and Kristy Lewis of Richmond.
There may yet be more entries as the deadline was last night. A draw is expected to be released today.
Two berths in the provincial championship are available. The B.C. Scotties is scheduled for the North Shore Winter Club, Jan. 23-29.
Windsor’s A&W rink back on top
The A&W rink, skipped by Brian Windsor, is back on top of the Sun Life Super League standings after Monday’s action at the Kamloops Curling Club.
A&W moved to the top with a 6-1 victory over Big Boot Inn/ TQM (Karla Thompson).
At the same time, KPMG (Bob Holden), which had been on top, was losing 7-3 to Desert Auto Parts (Tobin Senum).
In other games, BA Dawson (Brad Thompson) won its fourth straight game, 5-4 over Tim Hortons/Coldstone Creamery (Kevin Ihlen); Fireplace Centre (Stan Boone) scored four in the first end and went onto an 8-3 victory over Stereo Warehouse (Brent Yamada); and, Hub International (Grant Olsen) played to a 5-5 tie with SMS Equipment (Rick Reimer).
