Thank you for the recent article by Annalee Grant on the Key City Theatre Anniversary. It was good to read the many names of local folks involved in the project especially the credit given to Terry Segarty and Rick Jensen for their foundation roles in pulling the necessary resources together.
I'd like to remind your readers of a few other key players involved in the Construction Planning Committee who met tirelessly during the critical months of construction. The City was represented by myself, Councilor Alan Gordon, and Carmen Biafore (Clerk of the Works); from the School District came Trustee and Board Chair George Haras and Secretary Treasurer Rob Norum. This team met steadily with David Brockington, the architect, and Dennis Whyte of Whyte Construction, the contractor. Both the architect and the contractor gave us lots of practical advice as the project came to life.
And the Theatre opened on time, under budget, and without any long-term capital debt to the taxpayer!
Best wishes to all concerned and hopes for another great 20 years!
