A man charged after the New Year's Eve death of a 21-year-old woman had his first appearance in court Monday.
Ron Capilo has been charged with impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death and failure to stop at an accident causing bodily harm.
On Monday, February 20, Capilo appeared in Cranbrook Provincial Court, but the matter was put over to April 2 until his legal counsel received the disclosure from the Crown.
Capilo was allegedly involved in the fatal accident on Mission Road in the early hours of January 1, 2012.
RCMP said at the time that a 2006 Dodge Durango, travelling southbound, lost control and hit the ditch. The vehicle rolled and a 21-year-old passenger was ejected from the vehicle. According to RCMP, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
