    Volunteers Needed

    Volunteer Kamloops is a non-profit charity supporting community volunteering.

    RIH Afternoon Auxiliary Come and join our team at the RIH Gift Shop and Thrift Seller. Help us make a difference! Volunteers are needed for the Mobile Cart and Gift Shop and as cashiers. At the Thrift Seller, volunteers are needed for receiving, sorting, pricing and as cashiers. Call 250-314-2331 for further information.

    Canadian Cancer Society Three initiatives in April require a number of volunteers. The 2012 Daffodil Campaign needs a treasurer to help deposit the donations received. Two co-chairs are needed to help co-ordinate the Cut Flower campaign, and two for the Pin Campaign. The Door-to-Door Neighbourhood Awareness campaign, needs a treasurer for depositing and two co-chairs for organizing. Contact Jennifer Masson at 250-377-2478, email: jsalvino@bc.cancer.ca.

    Kamloops Cowboy Festival The B.C. Cowboy Heritage Society’s Kamloops Cowboy Festival is seeking someone to serve as the volunteer coordinator to help it continue into future years. Call 250-573-3270 or 250-456-2429.

    Canadian Red Cross The Canadian Red Cross requires a disaster management volunteer to provides social services, support and recovery assistance. This volunteer will put response plans into operation, respond to client queries, complete client assessments, provide administrative follow up, as well as participating in preparedness activities and training.     Big Brothers Big Sisters Big Brothers Big Sisters requires volunteers for the 15th Annual Kamloops Daily News Boogie. From April 26- 29, volunteers are needed for  the race expo and route volunteers on race day. Contact Terri Axani at 250-374-6134 or email terri.axani@bigbrothersbigsisters.ca.

    B.C. Wildlife Park Volunteers are needed for two upcoming special events at the B.C. Wildlife Park: March 11, Discover Nature Event and March 19 – 23 Spring Break Kids Camp. Family farm assistant and park docent are ongoing volunteer positions. Contact Katelyn at 250-573-3242 ext. 227.

    Elizabeth Fry Society A volunteer is required for to serve as the vegetable/flower gardener for the Elizabeth Fry Society. Candidate must be mature and have some growing experience, and be physically able to plant, weed and water. Must have an understanding of mental-health issues, be assertive and non-judgmental.     Ridgeview Lodge Volunteers needed for several positions: Happy Hour volunteers and general volunteers. Volunteers must be able to push a wheelchair, and take direction from the staff.
