For those who haven't heard the news, MoneySense has its new listings of the 190 best cities to live in Canada. Kamloops this year placed in the top 50, coming in at 44th overall.
The scores are based on items such as walking/biking to work, household income, crime rate, weather, culture, employment rates, etc.
All of us Kamloopsians should be very proud of this. We are only one of three B.C. cities to crack the top 50, with only Saanich and Victoria coming in above us (Vancouver was close behind at 56th).
Last year we placed much lower at 106th and in 2010 were in 64th, so this is a great achievement for our little/big city. I for one am proud to live here and everyone else should be as well. Hopefully we can keep this trend going and one day crack the top 20.
Oh, and for everyone who is worried about what Kelowna "thinks" of us, they fared much worse than we did, coming in at 144th out of 190.
