I DID IT!! I managed to get in my two training runs last week.
I did the first on Wednesday night and thought I would take my two basset hounds out for a run with me as well. They managed to make it through three sets of eight minutes running and two minutes walking before I had to drop them back off at the home before finishing my other three sets.
My second run was on the Joseph Ferguson Trail which runs along the river from the edge of downtown out to the Kal-Tire in Valleyview. I managed to fit this one in right after work before I had another engagement.
Normally I would have just gone home and relaxed or gone out for a beer but I felt much better having done a quick run.
The Sunday morning group run however was the trickiest. It was the morning after St. Patrick’s Day and a night on the town getting my fill of green beer and Irish cheer. The last thing I felt like doing was getting up on Sunday and going for a run on the airport dike.
I managed to pull myself out of bed and meet up with my group who were all bright eyed and cheery on a beautiful sunny morning. Clearly they had not enjoyed the same Irish cheer that I had.
It ended up being the nicest run I did all week although I did realize that it’s time for me to get some new shoes!
