Evening of clarinet a first for two KSO musicians

Although they’ve played with the Kamloops Symphony before, the upcoming Clarinet and Company performance is a Daily News Chamber Series first for two of the musicians who are playing.

Violist Veronique Saucier is in her second season as the KSO’s principal violist and cellist Olivia Walsh is a regular member of the cello section.

But general manager Kathy Humphreys said the musicians make their chamber debut at the Calvary Community Church at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night.

Also performing are the Kamloops Symphony’s principal clarinetist, Sally Arai and violinists Cvetozar Vutev and Annette Dominik, said Humphreys.

Arai and the string quartet will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Quintet for Clarinet in Strings along with Franz Schubert’s Quartettsatz, Grammy nominated composer Miquel del Aquila’s Pacific Serenade and Carl Maria von Weber’s Quintet in B-flat Major.

Tickets are available by phoning Kamloops Live! Box Office at 250-372-5000 or by going online to kamloopslive.ca.
