    Training Talk: Ryan Scorgie

I am back on track. I got my three runs in this week even though it was the Easter long weekend. We went to go visit my parents and my new nephew, which meant a long trek up to Beaverlodge, Alta.

We drove up to Jasper after work and spent the night. Percy and I started the next day with a run around Jasper. It was amazing to be in the mountains on a clear crisp morning, running through the city just as people began to wake and start their day.

The snow-capped mountains were a welcome sight and we both felt rejuvenated. The drive to Beaverlodge seemed shorter and we weren’t sitting all day.

While we were at my parents, we went for a run around the block. Country blocks are a little different from city block however, especially in Alberta. The sun was shining and we managed to run around the six-mile block in no time at all. My family has been following my training and was happy to hear about how training is going and how good it makes me feel.

I was a little worried that I wouldn’t be able to get my runs in since I was going out of town and would miss my group training. I really enjoy getting into a routine so I brought my running stuff with me and it was a very nice start to the day to go out for a quick run and it didn’t interrupt my vacation.
