Sun and breeze take the ice away

Here we go, folks.

Stump is out and fishing well, say several sources.

Lundbom had a couple of inches of open water Sunday morning, so it should be happening by first weekend in May, we would think.

It is still getting chilly at night, but Ol' Sully is out longer now and the iceman is giving up the ghost. The sun is shining right now and there is a slight breeze—perfect conditions for melting ice quickly.

Most of the lower elevation lakes, valley bottom, lakes should be good to go by now.

In the valley, the Vedder River is fishing well for steelhead.

The cutthroat are eating salmon fry until they are gorged all over the place.

I still have to get my chironomid and leech boxes in order. Hoping to be out there Sunday.

Get out and have some fun!

Tight lines.
