    Lottery winner plans Hawaii trip

    Sadie Haison

A Kamloops grandmother is the winner of a $500,000 lottery prize.

Sadie Haison purchased her Lotto Max ticket at Real Canadian Superstore. She checked the numbers over the weekend at a mall.

"I went to the Check-A-Ticket and checked it first and thought I had won $500," she said.

I tried to phone my husband, but he didn't answer. I just had to sit down for a bit and relax before I could drive home. I didn't even get my shopping done."

Haison wants to go on a trip to Hawaii but has no other immediate plans for her lottery windfall.

"We are just going to take our time and decide later what we're going to do with it," she said.
