BCTF works from grassroots up

In response to Jean Renard’s mistaken assumption that the BCTF is telling teachers how to spend their free time (as expressed in his letter published on Saturday, April 21), I offer the following: The recent vote of 73 per cent of BCTF members across the province to refrain from volunteering their time for extra-curricular activities is the membership telling the BCTF how disgusted teachers are about Bill 22 and an affirmation of the BCTF leadership in the struggle to have it repealed.

Our union works from the grassroots up, obviously a new concept for Mr. Renard.
