The Kamloops triathlon club is hosting the Spring Sprint Triathlon to encourage and promote this growing sport made famous by Canadian triathlete Simon Whitfield.
The club is searching for 15 additional race day volunteers to help with “cycle course setup, to lap counters, to timers,” said volunteer race director Teresa Seibel.
The club is looking at their largest numbers so far with 124 participants registered; the club is hoping to have 150 contestants by race day.
The race will be at the Westsyde pool and community centre May 6 at 8 a.m. “Don’t delay and let me know you can help out,” added Seibel.
There are three race distances, with the longest being an Olympic distance race and the shortest being the super sprint, which consists of a 300M swim, 10KM bike and a 3KM run. There is also a sprint relay and an Olympic relay.
