    Ticket misprint a disappointment

You should be aware that The Pavilion Theatre has released printed tickets for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee that show a start time of 8 o'clock. When my wife and I arrived at 7:45 we joined a queue of several others waiting to be seated because the performance had already started at 7:30!

Everyone in charge that I spoke to was apologetic but apparently there had been a misprint on the tickets. How were we to know? And, if there had been such confusion, then why not delay the start until everyone had arrived? The first few moments are crucial as audience participation is a big part of the production. It was obvious that everyone affected was very put off by this development.

I didn't realize that live theatre was doing so well in Kamloops that they could afford to annoy season's ticket holders this way. Very poor show.

Editor’s note: Western Canada Theatre explains that Monday and Tuesday performances usually start at 7:30, while other nights start at 8. Sixteen people received misprinted tickets for the Monday performance. Some chose to see the rest of the play, some received refunds and some accepted tickets for another night.
