I wish to point out an incorrect result posted in the 10 km for 2012 Boogie the Bridge regarding my placing. It was great getting acknowledgement from family, friends and peers regarding my participation, however I would like to make it known that the finishing results posted in the Monday paper were incorrect.

I have made an appeal to review the validation of my participant time. It was great to see my name in print – but never the less it was incorrect.

I would like to congratulate the community, organizers, volunteers and participants on a great event that as per the Boogie mission that strives to lead in the commitment to holistic health and positive change. The implementation of this positive change is through continuous growth and development.

Movement is change — the physical movement between points in space symbolizing perhaps the act of walking or running that for many is the reason for entering the event. However, a more fitting definition might be a group of people with a common ideology who try together to achieve certain goals.

My first true Boogie experience was not finishing a race, but the realization that efforts from the event were supporting the early education of my daughter through mother goose programs offered by KELLI. The gratification from that realization experienced one day while singing nursery rhythms with my daughter and understanding that they were in part made possible by the Boogie event were many times greater than the feat of the run and honestly much more memorable.

There have been many community contributions that have occurred and that will continue over time to reach well beyond the runners that participate – a true legacy for the City of Kamloops.
