A.J. Lockwood had five goals and seven assists to lead the Kamloops Rattlers to a 21-9 victory over the host Vernon Tigers in a Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League game Friday.
Mark Jurista had four goals and four assists in a big offensive performance by Kamloops, and J.J. Woldum had three goals and two helpers. Travis Joseph had two goals and three assists, Liam Hagerty scored three times and Nathan Woldum ended with two goals and two assists.
Dave Bannister and Lee Black also scored in the victory, in which Ryan Hildebrand had four assists and Nathan Akins added two helpers. Mike Smith played a period in goal for Kamloops, which outshot its hosts 51-37, before Eric Thomson made his senior Rattlers debut over the final 40 minutes.
The Rattlers are home to the Armstrong Shamrocks on Wednesday, 8 p.m., at Memorial Arena.

The Kamloops Venom finally opened its Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League season — and won a couple of home games.
The Venom, whose season was postponed due to a controversy surrounding player eligiblity, defeated the Armstrong Shamrocks 20-11 on Saturday and the South Okanagan Flames 14-8.
Ben Saklofsky had four goals and three assists in the opener, with Jamie Forster scoring two goals and assisting on three others. Jimmy Latin had two goals and two helpers, and Blaine Boomer, Riley Donahue and Brady Jorgensen each scored twice.
Quinn Smith had a goal and four assists, Jerome Thorne had a goal and two assists, and Jake Latin, Brett De Frias, Chris Vercillo and Rob Peterson singled. Mike Frolek and Matt Hans split the goaltending, and Frolek also had three assists.
Jorgensen and Saklofsky each had three goals and two assists against the Flames, with Dylan Woldum scoring twice and Peterson adding a goal and three assists. Jimmy Latin had two assists and a goal, with Smith, Jake Latin, Forster and Gage Deacon also scoring in support of Hans and Frolek.
The Venom is off to Armstrong to play the Shamrocks on Thursday.
