    Pendrel sixth at World Cup

Three Canadians finished in the top 10 in women’s cross-country at a World Cup mountain bike stop in Nove Mesto Na Morave, Czech Republic, on Saturday, but one rider was bumped from the top of the World Cup leaderboard.

Catharine Pendrel of Kamloops was sixth and Emily Batty of Brooklin, Ont., was 10th, while Marie-Helene Premont of Chateau Richer, Que., finished ninth, marking her first top-10 finish of the season.

French rider Julie Bresset won at the 25.5-kilometre course, taking the overall UCI World Cup leader’s jersey from Pendrel, who fell to second.

Batty fell from fourth to fifth, while Premont jumped to 13th.
