    Youth Soccer: Daley scores three for Blaze

    U14 BOYS

    Matthew Mackenzie backstopped the Blaze Tier 1 team to a 1-0 victory over the Penticton Pinnacles U15 team on Sunday.
    Stefan Nesci had the goal.

    Harminder Padda scored on a free kick from well behind his centre line as the Blaze Tier 2 team earned a 3-2 victory over the Penticton Pinnacles on Sunday.

    Sam Fehst came through with a pair of goals, and Jake Barron provided winning goalkeeping.

    U13 GIRLS

    The Blaze played to a 1-1 draw with a Penticton U14 squad on Sunday.

    Adrianna Bissonnette scored off a corner kick for the Blaze. Linnea Pasternak and Kendal Asuchak shared the offensive player of the game honours, while Julia Mercuri was honoured as the defensive player of the game.

    U12 BOYS

    It was a tough weekend for the Blaze Orange, which dropped a pair of games.

    Kamloops opened with a 4-0 loss to Kelowna 2. Evan Crowe was the Blaze goalkeeper.

    The second game ended in a 3-1 defeat to Penticton. Spencer LeDoux was in goal and Nathan Strank scored the goal.

    The Blaze White bounced back from a 3-1 loss to Vernon 2 to defeat Vernon 1, 3-2 on Sunday.

    Kamloops now is 7-3 in league play.

    The Blaze White was down 3-0 in the opener, before Levi Charlton scored for Kamloops. Jordan Devries had a strong game at midfield, and Angus McQuillan-Gordon was the Kamloops goalkeeper.

    McQuillan-Gordon earned the victory in the second game, as Charlton, Keenan Gannon and Eric Marasco had the goals.

    U12 GIRLS

    The Blaze White could only manage a draw in two Sunday games in Kelowna.

    Kamloops fell behind Kelowna Red 3-0 in the opener, but tied it 3-3 at the half. Kelowna ended up winning the game 6-4.

    Danica Hussey, with two, Calli Lawrence and Athena Louvros scored for the Blaze. Kamloops goalkeeper Rhean Holling went down with an injury.

    Kamloops battled back to tie Penticton 2-2. Calli Lawrence and Mari Claire Marshall had the goals for the Blaze.

    The Blaze Blue team scored a lot of goals and ended with a victory and a draw on Sunday in Kelowna.

    Kamloops tied Vernon 2, 3-3. Ryallie Jorgenson, Janaiah Orsetti and Kate Cartwright scored for Kamloops, and Linnea Brickwood won team MVP.

    Kassidy Sherwood had a shutout in the second game, which the Blaze won, 3-0. Jorgenson, Brickwood and Coral Goldman scored and Megyn McKenzie was MVP.

    U18 GIRLS

    Courtney Daly’s three goals led a strong offensive attack in the Blaze’s 7-1 victory over host Vernon on Sunday.

    Tsandlia Van Ry, Nicole Case, Kindra Maricle and Kelsey Martin also scored for the Blaze. Larissa Piva was the winning goalkeeper.

    U16 GIRLS

    A last-minute goal on a penalty shot helped host Kelowna defeat the Blaze 2-1 on Sunday.

    Both of Kelowna’s goals came on penalty shots. Kamloops’ goal came when Moraya Harrison converted a perfect pass from Cayla Morrow.

    U14 GIRLS

    Brenna Worsfold earned the goalkeeping victory as the Blaze Tier 1 team defeated the Blaze U15 girls 3-1 on Sunday.

    Hannah Marra opened the scoring, with Amy Wiebe singling and Sasha Sirianni converting a cross from Marie Ettinger to round out the scoring.

    U15 BOYS

    Jarret Battistella was in goal as the Blaze split a pair of weekend games.

    Battistella had the shutout in Kamloops’ 1-0 victory over Revelstoke. Marlo Bulhozer scored the goal.

    On Sunday, Kamloops fell 2-1 to Penticton, which scored the winner in the final minute. Bryce Greenwood had a second-half goal for Kamloops.
