A signed letter to editor states that new teacher mediator, Dr. Jago, is a true liberal who has for some time been working with Liberal government to wreak havoc with the teachers in B.C. Now the strike will never be solved peacefully and fairly.
An unsigned comment in the 'You Say' column asks how many administrators and school trustees volunteer their time with kids. In Cache Creek the trustee chair has been volunteering for years. Currently she is director-conductor of Desert Hills Handbell Choir, which practices at Cache Creek School, director-conductor of Sage Sound Singers at Ashcroft School, secretary-treasurer of Cache Creek First Scouts, chair of the Communities in Bloom Committee (which involves the school children), and numerous other school activities. She also has four children with their activities.
The school teachers and trustees are not to blame for this mess — it's the Liberal government and their underhanded ways, cutting services to the special needs children and treating the teachers with such disrespect.
Prolonging this strike only creates animosity among the families and teachers, the very people that are needed to ensure our children have the learning and respect they need for their futures.
I'm very disappointed in the Liberal government and their dictatorship attitude. Perhaps this so-called strike is merely a smoke screen so that voters keep their mind off the Liberals?
