Rodent-sized roses from Dave O. to Les and the crew at Knowles Exhaust. “Seems like a marmot had taken up residence in my car — first it was the motor and then it disappeared into the chassis. I could hear it whistling but I could not see it. After trying a few things I had no choice but to find a hoist and search for it. Les and the crew at Knowles put my vehicle up on the hoist and it was still there, hiding above the gas tank and the rear axel. After poking around for a few minutes we finally got it to jump out, only to hide inside the shop. After a few minutes of chasing and cornering it, we finally got it to escape to the outdoors. Thanks Knowles Exhaust. Your performance above and beyond the call of duty was appreciated by me and the marmot.”
Cool-as-a-cucumber roses from Reg and Beth to Josh Van Haque at Art Knapps. On Mother’s Day, Josh helped them load up and took their cart back. “On his way back, he noticed a small dog left in a heated car, panting. No wonder it was already close to 30 degrees outside. He stopped for a bit, left and came back with a dish of water. Fortunately, he was able to squeeze his arm in the partly open window to open the door. There he was able to help the dog, take him out of the car and sat with him. We watched Josh and this little dog for quite a while, but had to carry on with our day. Good on you Josh! And shameful thorns to the people who left their little dog in the heat!”
Hearty, strong roses from Janice and Dick to Brenda Sawada and her young son. They voluntarily helped shovel a large load of landscaping rock into the back of the couple’s truck. “Kudos to them both.”
Carts full of roses from Colleen “to the wonderful and stable staff at the Westsyde Coopers store who for years have worked cheerfully and happily in a store needing updating. While a new store is being built (roses to all those involved, too), the staff have reorganized the store to be both attractive and easy for shopping and continue to provide us with helpful service during messy and noisy construction of the new store.”
Rolling roses from Natalie to Lee Morris and the Rotary Club “for the great Summit and connector roadside cleanup and finding my son’s roller blades that fell from our truck that a.m. Much appreciated.”
