The driver of a Subaru involved in a hit and run last Wednesday has turned himself in.
The 23-year-old TRU international student from Kuwait was alone in his 2005 Impreza when he hit a parked 2007 Dodge Caliber then fled from the 400 block of Lansdowne Street.
Police issued a statement through media for residents and mechanics to be on the lookout for a late model silver Subaru with significant damage to its front-end.
On Thursday evening, the driver turned himself in at the Kamloops police detachment accompanied by a TRU colleague.
“The student reported that he didn’t know what to do after the crash because the vehicle was unoccupied and he wasn’t familiar with the laws,” said RCMP Staff Sgt. Grant Learned.
He was issued a motor vehicle act ticket for failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
