    Hitch to headline coaches' conference

Ken Hitchcock will be back as one of the headliners for the Kamloops Coaches’ Conference, to which the Kamloops Minor Hockey Association will play host from July 13-15.

The conference will be held at the Tournament Capital Centre and TRU, and costs $295 per individual — but only $175 for Kamloops coaches.

Included in the entry fee are all of the presentations, a gift, entry into a Friday night social, breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday, and lunch and dinner on Saturday.

Hitchcock, a former Kamloops Blazers coach, now is head coach of the St. Louis Blues, and is up for the Jack Adams Award as the NHL’s coach of the year.

He will be joined buy another former Blazers coach, Don Hay, now the head coach of the WHL’s Vancouver Giants, and three members of the Blazers’ current staff — head coach Guy Charron, associate coach Dave Hunchak and goaltending coach Dan De Palma.

Also presenting at the conference will be Terry Bangen, a senior advisor to the WHL’s Tri-City Americans and former assistant coach of the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks, and Petr Studnicka, the director of coaching for the Czech Republic Ice Hockey Federation.

Also present will be Greg Kozoris of Acceleration Fitness.
