Let our urban forest prosper

The Parks Department Planting Crew, under the direction of Mathew Pocock - the City's horticulturist - plant trees along the highway boulevard in Cranbrook. The tree planting is a project of the Cranbrook in Bloom Committee and its partners, the City of Cranbrook and Columbia Basin Trust.  Funding came from the CBT Communities Initiatives Fund and was approved by City Council. Sixty trees are being planted including: Paul's Scarlet Hawthorn, Summer Charm Tree Lilac, Snowbird Hawthorn, Pink Spire Crabapple and Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry. This will go a long way towards completing the tree planting along the highway corridor.
