The void of centre politics needs to be filled

There is something so obvious to me in our nation’s politics that I'm amazed that I have not heard anyone weighing in on it.
If you view the federal landscape you see the right side nicely filled by the Conservative majority, and the left crowded with several parties claiming differences but not having much luck differentiating themselves with the voters.

The middle is a desolate, empty place where you could fire a cannon and hit no one worth the cannonball. Why has every politician deserted the centre in favour of the left?

The Liberals used to claim this spot and ruled us until corruption brought them down. They all fled left for some reason I shall never understand.

If someone would fill this void they may find that many Canadians would vote for them. Bob Rae doesn't help, being an ex-spendthrift NDP provincial premier.
Will someone please fill this void?
