Urge government to appeal assisted suicide decision

On Friday, June 15, Justice Lynn Smith made a very troubling decision regarding assisted suicide. Her ruling made assisted suicide legal for one person and gave the federal government one year to enact a law to this effect.

Now it is up to the government of Canada. We have a government that defends the lives of criminals by outlawing capital punishment, but allows the murder of babies and innocent people. Now the aged, the disabled, discouraged, and sick are targeted.

And who is to commit this disgusting act? A doctor who has sworn an oath to heal! Legalizing assisted-suicide and euthanasia will cause the above to lose the right to life, liberty and security.

I urge everyone to write their MP and justice minister asking that the government appeal this decision and enact laws concerning this.

I would also like to mention Gloria Taylor’s statement in which she answers a question from a reporter about when she would request assisted suicide.

“God will decide when,” she said.

We are capable of such hypocrisy!
