I’m not happy to have to travel out of province to visit these young people who are starting their families elsewhere.
Jobs and apprenticeships have been supported by the Domtar pulp mill, Afton Mine, Highland Valley Copper, the railroads and surrounding sawmills.
Good for them. Let’s continue this with the Ajax Mine.
Now that we have heard from everyone against the mine — those that have pensions and their house paid off — it is time to ask “what about the support for the 1,100 young men and women that graduated last year from our school system?”
Just graduating this June we have another 1,100. Is our City council producing jobs for these young students or encouraging an exodus to Alberta and Saskatchewan to find work?
