Youth destruction bigger issue than Ajax

I believe it is time to put Ajax to bed and start looking at the real problem plaguing Kamloops; that of our out-of-control, drunken, destructive, impudent young people who think it is perfectly OK to destroy schools, cars, businesses, homes, and now the Wildlife Park.

They walk into places and take whatever they want with no regard for the cost. If they destroy it, so be it. They don't care. The parents seem unwilling or unable to control them. The police can't keep up with the amount of destruction and chaos they are creating.

Perhaps these kids should be removed from their homes until either they or their parents can get control of the situation. Perhaps we should set up a vigilante situation until this stops -- but it must stop.

It is way beyond teen "fun." It is vandalism and we need laws that will protect us. Something has to change.

Ajax is a simple little problem that has received too much press and this has not been addressed at all. Parents, what are you prepared to do to control it?
