Star Trek beams into Aberdeen Odeon

Local trekkies keen to watch two popular episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation on the big screen will get their chance Monday night.

Where No One Has Gone Before and Datalore will screen at the Cineplex Odeon Aberdeen starting at 7:30 p.m. as part of a limited release in Canadian cinemas.

Cineplex spokesman Mike Langdon said the episodes were picked by Star Trek experts Mike and Denise Okuda and have been painstakingly remastered from the original camera negatives.

Where No Man Has Gone Before was chosen for its striking visual effects. Datalore was selected because it features fan favourite Data and his evil twin, Lore, said Langdon.

The screening takes place a day before the series is released on Blu-ray.

Created by Gene Roddenberry as part of the classic Star Trek franchise, Star Trek: The Next Generation was produced 21 years after the debut of the original series.
