The Thompson Drive boat launch in Valleyview is open after being closed due to flooding and then due to a need for repairs.
The City gave the launch the all-clear signal Wednesday. It had sustained some damage from the high water and required some asphalt repairs that have been done.
Boaters are still asked to keep the throttle in check, as the river water is still high and waves can cause damage on the shoreline. As well, be careful of debris floating loose in the water.
The same high water and floating debris has postponed the opening of the beach at Riverside Park. It’s expected to open this weekend.
